TOPIARY PARK CROSSING
Sketch Blue, Summer 2023 and Spring 2024
Environmental Graphic Design | Wayfinding | Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Topiary Park Crossing is an apartment complex in downtown Columbus, Ohio. This project is a blend of heritage and modern design, providing a high end experience without the price tag. Themes from this project were pulled from Columbus Parks’ Topiary Garden, which brings to life Georges Seurat's "Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte" with topiary trees. Sketch Blue worked on the interior design, brand design, and environmental design for this project. I provided concepts and final artwork for wayfinding, branded graphics, and custom art. I even had the opportunity to manage the install of some of these graphics.

An Elevated and Affordable Living Experience in Downtown Columbus.
Graphic Inspiration
The design and color pallet aims to fit with other existing architecture in the area, as well as draw inspiration from Topiary Park, located across the street from the site. A victorian era color pallet and exploration of the simplistic shapes of the topiaries helped form the graphic language of the space.
Setting the Standard
Topiary Park Crossing makes urban living accessible. This complex features 98 units for residents at 60%, 80%, and 100% Area Median Income. The building features many amenity spaces to counter the smaller unit sizes, including phone rooms on every floor, a center terrace, a library, and more.
Wayfinding utilized a large scale vinyl Topiary Crossing Logo on each floor with raised PVC floor numbers.
On the second floor, there is a long corridor leading to the terrace. A ceiling graphic adds energy to this area to differentiate this hallway from the resident units. Inspired by victorian arches, this graphic aids in wayfinding while also working well with existing finishes in the resident halls.
