SOUTH BANK AT
QUARRY TRAILS

Sketch Blue, Spring 2024

Environmental Graphic Design | Wayfinding | ADA Signage | Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

South Bank at Quarry Trails is an apartment building in Columbus, Ohio. This living experience was built for the adventurer, with picturesque hiking trails right outside your door, the design of this complex is inspired by nature and the art of exploration of the world around you.

This project is still under construction and is set to be complete in 2025. I had the opportunity to work on select experiential graphics for the space, work on the ADA signage package for South Bank, and present concepts to the client.

Inspired by natural materials to bring nature’s serenity indoors.

SIGNAGE MOODBOARD

“WE WANT PEOPLE TO FORGET THEY ARE IN COLUMBUS”

Inspired by the beautiful landscape surrounding the South Bank complex, this materials palette and concept is rooted in the natural materials in nature to help the resident feel like they are escaping from urban downtown Columbus.

This 5 sign type ADA system utilizes a custom color match background with Clear braille with white raised messaging to match the doors and cohesively blend with the interior design.

The restrooms are tucked on the main floor, to aid in wayfinding I designed a blade sign to grab your attention from down the hall, with a matching stone look ADA sign with raised brass finished icons, letters, and braille.

One of the unique amenity spaces of this complex is the Gear Storage, an area for residents to lock their bikes, kayaks, and more.

An exterior grade gloss vinyl applied to metal garage door marks where you are on the topographic map of the Scioto River, and aids in finding the Gear Garage from the exterior of the building. This amenity space is accessible by other Quarry Trails residents.

Pegboard with black translucent logo in vinyl next to a custom wall covering mural brings graphic language from the outside in to build a cohesive graphic experience.

*Graphics made in collaboration with Mary Gibson

Ground floor residential experience includes a large scale vinyl Scioto River topographic map at the entrance of each hallway.
